RayArdia is still having a problem:
Hi Sam,
Now in UK for a few days, hence delay in responding to your helpful
comments.
Regret 'no joy' to report, failed at step one:-
ray@RayLaptop:~$ sudo
cp /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.backup
cp: cannot stat `/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base': No such file or directory
ray@RayLaptop:~$ gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
ray@RayLaptop:~$
The alsa-base (/etc/modprobe.d) - gedit window has a tab named alsa-base
but is otherwise completely blank. May I ask for a little more help on
this one please?
Re Pulse-audio and Skype.
Ancient brain not able to follow the complications of the link you
pointed me to - sorry!
Do I really need to use Pulse-audio at all. What about if I uninstall
both Pulse and Skype and use Ekiga instead?
With best wishes, Ray
