Larry Jordan proposed the following answer:
Don't have any reference to backspace key in Keyboard Shortcuts; if
I do an Edit->Profile and choose to edit the Default profile (only one
listed) the backspace key is changeable. Mine is set to ASCII DEL
(shown in all capital letters). It's under the Compatibility tab.
