Re: [Question #78094]: Jaunty gives '$ HOME/.dmrc file being ignored' after booting
Question #78094 on Ubuntu changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/78094
Status: Answered => Open
RayArdia is still having a problem:
Sam, Skype still won't work but will sort it out by asking a new question, thank you for trying to help.
The .dmrc matter is still there! Whenever I start the laptop still get this:-
'Users $HOME/.dmrc file is being ignored. This prevents the default
system and languages from being saved. File should be owned by user and
have 644 permissions. Users $HOME directory must be owned by user and
not writable by others.'
I have checked that the System Sound settings are all on ALSA, but could
it be that because of the .dmrc issue these are not being saved, and are
therefore still on the Vista defaults (Vista was preloaded when laptop
was bought.)
Screenshot of sound settings:- Sorrry, now can't show the screenshot, Alt+Take screenshot gives me the .png file (on desktop) but can't seem to copy and paste it here.
