[Question #79043]: Unable to logout as missing panels unresolved - also no access to email. Wonderful!

Recent Jaunty installation (updated) has suddenly hidden the bottom panel (toolbar effectively).

When the top panel was set to non-expanded and dragged to the screen bottom to see if this would achieve renewed mutual visibility, the opposite occured.

I now have neither panel.  Somewhat cryptic computing environment ensues.  Can't even logout or shutdown.

Please advise.

As a workround hotkeys for basic logging / closure functions would be useful prior to resolution of the "vanishing" panels.
