[Question #79047]: Downloaded UBUNTU 9.0 desktop from Rochester. First time it worked. Now it will not make bootable DVD-R or DVD+R. CD will boot to Linux Prompt but no GUI. Tried downloading from Georgia (Mozilla) but when I try to create DVD it still defaults to Nero Essentials 7.0. Has my Nero gone corrupt after my first UBUBTU DVD burn?

New question #79047 on Ubuntu:

The CD burned from the downloaded file will only boot up to the Linux prompt.
The DVD(s) burned from the same downloaded file will not boot. On boot-up, the DVD led flickers and the HDD will flicker once every 10 seconds; the floppy drive led sometimes also stays on. After about ten minutes I have to press the eject cd button and then Windows XP finishes booting instead of UBIUNTU.

I tried downloading the files several times. On the last download, on the prompt window to save or open there is a pull down window for the choice of Nero or Mozilla. Both options gave me the same result (useless DVDs).

Maybe my Nero has gone bad? I was able to download the files and burn a DVD last month without any problems but after making the first DVD, I was no longer able to create a new one with that download. I tried downloading several times with no success.
Thank you,
