Message #10766
Re: [Question #79002]: Incorrect timestamps when accessing FAT formatted disk, timestamps are offset by the difference by local time and UTC.
Question #79002 on Ubuntu changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/79002
Status: Open => Solved
Anders Bäckström confirmed that the question is solved:
Possible solution:
setting UTC=no (instead of the default UTC=yes)
in /etc/default/rcS
This change seems to make ubuntu 9.04 handle file times stored on vfat
filesystems (by windows,digital cameras and mobile phones) correctly.
I hope this configuration change does not give any undesirable side
effects.
