You can verify the install using:
file ~/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so
If there is no error output then you are ready to rock. The nvidia
driver was fine, you simply have to tweak flash.
now i you run:
sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer
Then restart firefox, you should be ok.
If not, run firefox from a terminal and paste the output here.
