[Question #79130]: Can no longer send or receive emails in Evolution on Ebuntu

New question #79130 on evolution in ubuntu:
https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+question/79130

Binary package hint: evolution

I cannot send or receive email in Evolution. When I try to send, the emails just remain in my Outbox. I cannot receive either. I occasionally get a message asking for my username (even though remember username is ticked). When I tried to type this in just now nothing appeared in the box and Evolution completely froze. When I logged in again I got this message on my desktop: "Network service discovery disabled. Your current network has a .local domain. which is not recommended and incompatible with the Avahi network service discovery. The service has been disabled."

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/evolution
Package: evolution 2.26.1-0ubuntu2
ProcEnviron:
 LANG=en_GB.UTF-8
 SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: evolution
Uname: Linux 2.6.28-14-generic i686
