Re: Ubuntu Gnome - WIki
Hello, cprofitt ,
I accept your suggestions. As amjjawad says, our goal is to create a Wiki and Help pages like a mix from the Lubuntu and Xubuntu models (and other distros as well). You are right that the Wiki page have to be only for team information and organization. We have 2 paths from here: 1. create a new Help page (with tutorials and howtos) in the Community site of https://help.ubuntu.com/ ; 2. create a whole new page on our site or of different server (and URL) like the Xubuntu team did on http://docs.xubuntu.org/ .
We have ideas, we have goals, but we are in the beginning and now we are filling our pages with information. When we have some more contributors, we can enlarge our work on the Wiki and Documentation and we can make some of the changes you mention. Many changes have to be made and many new pages have to be added and soon there will be a sub-team meeting of the Wiki and Documentation team, where all this will be discussed in details.
Thank you for your message.

Hello Everyone:
I noticed that the Ubuntu Gnome team has started a wiki and wanted to
advert your attention to the structure of the Ubuntu wikis.
Currently there are two main wiki areas:
wiki.ubuntu.com -- which is for people and teams.
help.ubuntu.com/community -- which is for how-to documentation for
Ubuntu and Ubuntu flavors.
Other flavors on help.ubuntu.com/community
* https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu
* https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Kubuntu
While it is not mandatory to move any existing pages I believe it would
help to move how-to pages to the help.ubuntu.com/community section and
leave details about team organization on wiki.ubuntu.com. That is what
the community is used too so new Gnome Ubuntu users will likely be told
to search help.ubuntu.com/community for how-to documentation.
I noticed you were inspired by the Lubuntu page
( https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LubuntuLinks); you will notice that
several of their links point to the help.ubuntu.com/community site.
I would also suggest having your wiki admins join the Ubuntu
Documentation team. ( https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DocumentationTeam)
If you have any questions please let me know.
