Re: Ubable to update Ubuntu-One on Acer Aspire Laptop

Spoke too soon. The first reboot/login after the re-install ubuntuone
crashed (I submitted the crash log to bug #415272).

Logging in a second time, the ubuntuone applet was in the status bar for
a few seconds but then disappeared (although the output of "ps -ef"
shows the client and syncdaemon running).

After a reboot/login it crashed again.

As a datapoint, I had this same problem for weeks (T61 Thinkpad) - it was to the point that I had stopped using Ubuntuone.

The procedure below worked flawlessly and I am a happy Ubuntu One user again.

Sorry this hasn't been working for you. I wonder if it's a glitch from
when we split the packages up?

How can I uninstall and reinstall, would rather use the Terminal to be
sure of uninstalling it. Does anybody know the command? Still getting
used to the terminal.

To remove everything (this is the lowest level ubuntuone package, it
will force all the rest to be removed):

$ sudo apt-get remove ubuntuone-storage-protocol

To reinstall everything (this is the top level ubuntuone package
including gnome integration):

$ sudo apt-get install ubuntuone-client-gnome

Let us know if you are able to get it working, if not there may be a bug
in the package dependencies that we need to identify and fix.
