Re: 'Synchronize on Ubuntu One" menu item

I know everyone has been hounding on this issue for a long time but one of the reasons I was happy Ubuntu had not 'given in' was that an error in synchronization could vapourize important data. Whereas with a separate folder (UbuntuOne) people would just copy important data over and usually keep the originals how they were in their file system.

Is there any validity to my anxiety here or if I synchronize my /home Documents folder will I one day discover it irretrievably altered?

Hello,

I'm using Ubuntu One on Jaunty AMD64 and I noticed the "Synchronize on Ubuntu One" menu item today. Does it copy everything to the Ubuntu One folder?

Hi Roshan,

This will enable you to mark folders outside of the Ubuntu One folder for synchronization. It's only supported in Lucid and we haven't build the website experience yet but many were asking for this feature. You can mark any folder in your home folder for synchronization.

Thanks!

Matt
