Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
`apport-collect 575576` and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

Furthermore, Karmic reached EOL on 2011-04-30.

I've tried recreating this bug with Trusty and was unable to, given the
information you've provided. Please upgrade to the latest version and
re-test. If the bug is still reproducible please do what I write above.

  shape countour line editor not working correctly

Status in “scribus” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: scribus

  When attempting to edit a shape, specifically by selecting the
  property of the shape, selecting the shape tab, then the contour line
  button and edit in the upper right hand corner of the shape properties
  box a node properties box opens up.  Checking "edit contour line" and
  selecting the value change box (third rectangle down) and changing the
  value to 0.1 should enlarge/shrink the contour line value by 0.1.
  However, the shape is not enlarged or shrunk by 0.1, but rather is
  enlarged or shrunk according to the shape size.  For example, a page
  number box of .25x.25 has a smaller contour line enlargement than a
  image box of 2.5x2.5.  The enlargement of the contour line is not
  persistent and consistent with the value.  Reproducible in scribus and
  scribus-ng
