[Bug 1638778] Re: Wacom touch screen on lenovo X201t stopped working after upgrading from 14.04 to 16.04
I add some important info.
Every time a new kernel upgrade is performed (e.g. via software updates)
touchscreen come alive at reboot.
Unfortunately it stops working after another simple reboot.

Title:
Wacom touch screen on lenovo X201t stopped working after upgrading
from 14.04 to 16.04
Status in xf86-input-wacom package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
I recently changed from Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04. I re-installed from
scratch as I was moving from 32bit to 64bit.
My lenovo x201 tablet's touch screen and stylus did work fine with
32bit 14.04.
Now the touch screen is not even recognised.
It does not show up in System Settings > Wacom Tablet
Running:
xsetwacom --list devices
returns nothing.
sudo lshw | grep wacom
returns nothing.
xinput returns:
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad id=11 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ TPPS/2 IBM TrackPoint id=13 [slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)]

...but no mention of the wacom touchscreen.
The following file is present on my system:
/lib/udev/rules.d/69-wacom.rules
it contains the following:
