  lyx spellchecker does not work

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: lyx

  If you press F7, click the toolbar button, or go through the menu
  nothing happens. By nothing, I mean it puts a message in the status
  bar saying it's going to open the spell checker dialogue. However that
  is all, no dialogue actually opens.

  In the prefs I'm using aspell with en_GB as the alternative language.
  If I change it to ispell (not installed) I get an error, so it is
  trying something. If I remove the alternative language, there is no
  change in symptoms.
