[Bug 309511] Re: File name parsing wrong when save as foo.lyx-tmp: offers to overwrite existing file
This bug is still present. Changing file extension is not a good idea,
but LyX should not choke on it.

Title:
File name parsing wrong when save as foo.lyx-tmp: offers to overwrite
existing file
Status in lyx package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Binary package hint: lyx
In LyX 1.6.0, create a file called foo.lyx and save it.
Now, make a modification and use "save as" to save to foo.lyx-altered
LyX will suggest overwriting the original foo.lyx!
Instead, it should write to the new file as requested, possibly with a .lyx extension added to the file name.
Description: Ubuntu 8.10
Release: 8.10
