[Bug 1747703] Re: Translation not synchronized
The new template was stucked in the review queue for 17.10 which is why
the strings/translations didn't get imported, it has been approved now
which should resolve the issue. There has been no upload in bionic yet
so maybe the same is to do there after the next upload
Using launchpad allow us to ship translations updates without having to
have to update the code, which is a big win in testing and servers/users
bandwith use

Title:
Translation not synchronized
Status in shotwell package in Ubuntu:
Fix Committed
Bug description:
Automatic translation imports appear to be failing for Danish.
Last edit is listed as April 2014:
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/bionic/+source/shotwell/+pots/shotwell
There are now 500 untranslated strings although the Danish translation
is complete in upstream:
https://l10n.gnome.org/vertimus/shotwell/master/po/da
https://l10n.gnome.org/vertimus/shotwell/shotwell-0.26/po/da
I don't know the extent to which this affects other languages, but
many launchpad packages have trouble importing translations - I have
reported several other problems with this.
I think Ubuntu should entirely disable translations in Launchpad for
packages whose translations are maintained elsewhere. Better keep it
simple and always ship the translations from upstream.
