[Bug 1843611] [NEW] There should be a way to preserve PulseAudio config
Public bug reported:
I want to have PulseAudio controlling my built-in soundcard and use Jack
with the USB interface, while still having it bridged to PA. This way I
worked in a different distribution (using Cadence and some manual
hacking) and it was quite convenient.
ubuntustudio-controls i very convenient, but this scenario won't work,
as any alsa module will be unloaded from pulseaudio when Jack is
started, even when there is no actual conflict.
I think there should be, at least, an option to stop unloading the
possibly-conflicting modules. User would be responsible to configure
PulseAudio in a way that doesn't conflict with Jack, but PulseAudio
would still be able to control some hardware directly.
** Affects: ubuntustudio-controls
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
