[Bug 1843611] Re: There should be a way to preserve PulseAudio config
This isn't a bug report, but a wishlist item and an opinion. The the
way the PulseAudio bridge is designed is to enable PulseAudio to be
treated as an audio device inside of Jack. Redesigning that is
completely out of our control. Ubuntu Studio Controls has nothing to do
with that, so what you're asking is completely outside of the scope of
the project.

Title:
There should be a way to preserve PulseAudio config
Status in ubuntustudio-controls:
Opinion
Bug description:
I want to have PulseAudio controlling my built-in soundcard and use
Jack with the USB interface, while still having it bridged to PA. This
way I worked in a different distribution (using Cadence and some
manual hacking) and it was quite convenient.
ubuntustudio-controls i very convenient, but this scenario won't work,
as any alsa module will be unloaded from pulseaudio when Jack is
started, even when there is no actual conflict.
I think there should be, at least, an option to stop unloading the
possibly-conflicting modules. User would be responsible to configure
PulseAudio in a way that doesn't conflict with Jack, but PulseAudio
would still be able to control some hardware directly.
