[Bug 1311910] Re: no sound level verification on mouse up
I have been puzzling over this as part of an overall Sound spec.
<https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Sound#Volume>
There are three levels of notification we could give for different ways that you change the volume:
(A) audio and on-screen confirmation (e.g. when you use keyboard volume keys);
(B) audio confirmation only (e.g. when you click in a volume slider);
(C) no confirmation at all (e.g. when volume is reduced by a script).
The question here is whether mousing up, after dragging the volume
slider, belongs to group B or group C. Correct?
If we should give audio feedback, there is already a sound for this task
used by keyboard volume keys.
** Project changed: indicator-applet => indicator-sound
** Changed in: indicator-sound

Title:
no sound level verification on mouse up
Status in Sound Menu:
New
Bug description:
I think that there should be a simple sound 'ding' when you release
the left mouse button after adjusting the voulme level to provide
feedback through the speakers so the user knows if the volume is too
quite or too loud or just right.
