[Bug 1327416] Re: Date-indicator causes 130% CPU load and hangs system
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, I'm not sure how to proceed on this ticket --
what version of Ubuntu are you running, and which version of indicator-
datetime did you have installed when the high CPU use was triggered?
Are there specific steps that I can use to reproduce this problem?
Thanks!

Title:
Date-indicator causes 130% CPU load and hangs system
Status in The Date and Time Indicator:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Recently updated kernel to 3.8.0-39 and would attempt to login as my
regular user. The fans would spin up, the hard drive light would
become busy and as I watched top in the brief few minutes after seeing
the desktop - date-indicator would consumer 130+% of CPU usage and the
system would become unresponsive requiring a cold reboot.
Managed to get a non-graphical minimal terminal and removed only date-
indicator via apt-get and hang disappeared. CPU usage went back to
normal and system is now responsive.
