[Bug 1327416] [NEW] Date-indicator causes 130% CPU load and hangs system

Public bug reported:

Recently updated kernel to 3.8.0-39 and would attempt to login as my
regular user. The fans would spin up, the hard drive light would become
busy and as I watched top in the brief few minutes after seeing the
desktop - date-indicator would consumer 130+% of CPU usage and the
system would become unresponsive requiring a cold reboot.

Managed to get a non-graphical minimal terminal and removed only date-
indicator via apt-get and hang disappeared. CPU usage went back to
normal and system is now responsive.

** Affects: indicator-datetime
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
