Plans for thunderbird and its mail notifications?

Hi,
As a user of thunderbird, i would like to know:
1) Does Ubuntu plan to have the thunderbird mail notifications display
via notify-osd?
i have used various thunderbird addons which display using the
notify-osd... and the better of the lot is the Ubuntu Notify addon...
but even this addon gets irritating when i receive several mails, rather
than using a single bubble to notify about ALL the mails at once, it
displays a bubble for each mail one after the other...
but this i *presume* is due to the limitations of notify-osd of not
allowing use of more lines in the single bubble.
2) If notify-osd is going to display the notifications , would it allow
for several mail notifications in the same bubble or just give "X new
mails" as the notification?
3) When will thunderbird be included into the indicator applet?[only in
karmic or in jaunty]...Will the minimize to indicator applet function be
available?
Cheers,
mac_v
