That's true.
However, they have quite a lot in common with other, normal behaviours.
To get rid of any window, you close it. There are well-known hot keys
for that, and the button is always in the same place of the window, and
always looks the same.
To access the messaging app, you go to the messaging menu, regardless of
whether or not it's running.
