Re: Progress dialogs & minimising applications
How should grouped windows be handled? A few ideas:
1. Show progress of one window. This could be the first progress state
added, or the last one, or a random one. ;)
2. Show multiple progress states. I think this could be especially
nice with the "burning fuse" mockup; ie. multiple fuses. It wouldn't
work for the "clock" mockups.
3. Show a combined progress state. The window just sets the progress
state, and the window list will figure out how to combine them into
one.
4. Don't group windows with progress states. The window list puts
every entry with a progress state in a different place.
5. Let apps themselves have full control. They know what's best for
them. At least they think so...
These are just ideas for the panel entries. For the first and the
third idea, it might be a good idea to add the progress bars of the
individual windows in the menu that opens when you click on a grouped
window entry.
