I had this in mind when I mentioned the "consistency" argument, as
Thorsten however I do not think it's an improvement for "newbies". See

It's good to see people are working on making Unity more customizable but...
I don't think that's the way forward for the menu bar discussion. I'm
talking about changing the defaults not introducing options that
further split the user base into very different environments all
called "Unity".
