Maybe it's only me but if you are having several text documents or
spread sheets open you'll always chose the wrong, the bigger the preview
the better. Every other applications look mostly very different due to
different content in the different windows.
It's right that it is important how windows are ordered so we have to
rethink this. Maybe when we show a big preview of the window on hover
(as you suggested your idea may be great, But how do you want to show
the big spread with all applications, as it will get extremely important.

Hi Christian,
Having used Windows 7 (with aero enabled), I've never found that a small
window preview was actually a problem. Of course, the smaller the
preview is, the harder it is to distinguish between two similar
application instances. Let me point out that this is already a problem
with unity when you have a lot of instances of your application. If we
wish to keep a static positioning in spread mode while keeping the
windows small enough for them to be quickly accessed, I think that two
things can be done about it:
1. Legibly display the window's title above it's preview (and this is
what's actually done in the current spec, only the title is displayed
when your mouse hovers the window preview.
2. Enlarge the preview on mouse over. For this many things can be
thought of: when hovering above a given preview, you could display the
original application's window in half transparency (full size); you
could simply enlarge the preview itself, etc. Using one of those
schemes, I think we might have the best of both worlds for quick and
intuitive task switching using the Launcher...
I'd be glad to know what do you think about this. :)
Thanks!
Mathieu

Hi! First of all, my apologies for the previous mail sent to

every list member, individually.
As there was some confusion about the proposals I've submitted and
that they were not exactly up-to-date with the current
specification,
you'll find in the following link a very graphical summary of what I
perceive to be potential issues with the current spec. as well
as some
suggestions to fix those.

I like your idea but it makes the windows too small in my opinion.
The thing I like most is that all windows are displayed so big in
spread view so that you can easily read headings or logos
