Re: Pin to Dash Option

I actually like the idea of creating a new category in the dash home. Let's imagine a common work scenario where a user uses a certain file frequently. It would be nice if this file can be pinned to the dash home under a new category. This feature can be compared to starred emails in gmail where you basically star an email because it is important and can be accessed for future reference. In addition to the proposal made by Ryan Guager, I would like the ability to pin anything in the dash (files, folders, pictures, videos, applications) in a new category.

The items under the starred category are present until removed by the user.

Thoughts?

Would this be the equivalent of pinning a folder to the launcher in OS
X? Say, one could pin a group of apps or a folder of files to the
launcher, and when clicked, it would open a custom lens or something
of that sort in the dash, showing all of the files/apps that are
pinned there. Using this solution, there is less clutter in both the
launcher and in the dash.

What would be the benefit over simply pinning to the launcher?

        Team,

I hope everybody is having a good week. I have an idea. My
idea is, we could add an option on a right-click of an icon
in Dash that will pin it to the Dash home. This could be done
by adding a section above recent apps, maybe titled "Pinned
        Apps"? Opinions are needed... Thanks!

I am a huge fan of pinning icons to the launcher, so I have a lot
of them. Sometimes, it is hard to get to them quickly though. The
benefit users would get from pinning to the Dash is that users
could pin a lot of icons to the Dash, and quickly find them while
    inside Dash.

+1 for this idea.
