Per application indicators, bound to an application's main/document 
window (well, as long as it is not maximized, which might already lead 
to the answer to the question).

While I'm sure there are good reasons for a delay of 2 months to a 
reply, it does add to the reasons for asking what the heck anyone is 
still doing on this list ...
