So all we know that Ubuntu 11.10 boot slowly than older version. I've read a file about this and in this file is written this: * compiz is taking a lot of time right now: - loading lot of .so files - heavy gconf use
My question is: why ubuntu load so many .so file? With Unity you can't use all the plugin that Compiz have so why there is so many plugins? A partial solution for the slow boot can be this: remove all the useless .so files from /usr/lib/compiz.
