This is because Unity has added an unchecked dependency on a distro 
patch in XFixes[1].

Sam said he knew how to check for the particular symbol with cmake 
magic. This really should be added to Unity to avoid confusion like this 
(that I also went through :-)).

If you pull in the latest Precise updates you should be good.
