trying to customize the above variable in gnu emacs (22.3 and also
23.0.93), I see the problem shown below in the customization buffer.
I don't think the mismatch is due to my customization, as I didn't
change this variable.

Operate on all settings in this buffer that are not marked HIDDEN:
 Set for Current Session Save for Future Sessions
 Undo Edits Reset to Saved Erase Customization   Finish

vm-mime-encode-headers-type: Hide Value 'Q
   State: STANDARD. (mismatch)

The encoding type to use for encoding headers.
