Well, it is supposed to.  Rob's comment says that the *same code* is
being used to generate the presentation buffer as well as the quoted
text.  I just tested it on an example message similar to what you said
and it worked ok for me.  So, there must be something else going on,
and we will need to debug it.  Can you send me a full sample message
like you did last time?

PS vm-include-text-from-presentation is invoking the same code that
the old vm-reply-include-presentation was invoking.  So, the same bug
arose.  Sorry that I didn't remember that when I wrote to you a couple
of days ago.

hi, when I reply to the message below, my entire inbox is quoted in the reply.
 that's over 15Mb.  this seems to happen consistently in different emacs
sessions.  I don't see anything wrong with this message, but perhaps you will...
 cvs emacs 23.1.50, using the latest trunk.  thanks...  E
