[Bug 533257] [NEW] Assessment thread: rationalised key bindings

Public bug reported:

knubee on gnu.emacs.vm.info, Mar 5, 2010:

1. revised/improved keybindings that are more intuitive (and possibly
more similar to other standard email programs). it seems absurd that
"z" (rather than "f") is the key command to "forward" an email, and so
on. it would be great to have a systematic review and overhaul of the
keybindings. one of the most bizarre choices to my mind is that "M M"
marks a *single* item and "M m" marks all of them; these seems
completely opposite of what is obvious. which leads to ...

2. revised/improved keybindings/operations for doing standard/typical
operations on mail summaries. example: it seems odd to me that when i
am looking at a summary view, there is not a single key that i can hit
to mark mails for further operations (compare with dired). another
example: why is it so complicated to do something as basic as a) mark
several pieces of mail in a summary view, and then b) perform an
operation (delete or move) on those selected (without going through
the iintermediary step of "M n"). etc.
