- Better ability to see and read html email -- yeah, I know email should
  be text, but the rest of the world doesn't seem to think so....

- Ability to compose structured/html email (because sometimes you do
  want to make your emails stand out and look "pretty"...)

First, a blueprint needs to be created for html composition.
