Some great work your doing in clean-up!

The only thing I'm working on is the re-factoring of the customize stuff.
Currently, it is much improved and while there are some further refinements
I'd like to add, all the customize variables at least now appear to work and
we no longer have 'mismatch' warnings. All options are also now broken up
into groups.

I would like a week or two to do some further fixes and a little clean-up,
but I think it may be worth considering merging what I have done into the
main trunk. While there is still further improvements that could be done, it
is, I think, still better than what is currently there.

I will try to put some real effort into this over the next couple of weeks
and will do regular merges with trunk to keep in sync with your cleanup
work.
