Pulling source and testing on a local LAMP stack is what I do, and I believe
Paul does as well.  Yeah, you can also host it on a VPS to test it, that's
what I've been doing more or less with http://bugs.thescoundrels.org - that
will always run +1 of what is running on http://bugs.whube.com, as it is my
"production testing" environment before pushing to mainline whube.
