I think we should be able to provide a path to a directory that contains all widelands binaries. On the server this is conveniently /usr/share/games/widelands

I do not think it is much of a problem though. We have the nighly PPA and Widelands install nicely from there. In fact, it is already installed on the server.

I think it is more correct to use the installed version.
