I used the language menu of Battle for Wesnoth as a model for the left/right alignment. So yes, text aligning is per entry - I am checking if there is an RTL character in the entry or not.

The left-aligned strings in the encyclopedia etc. are untranslated strings - once they get translated, they should right-align.
