ATI Powerplay
Morning peeps,
I have notices that ati has recently added a feature to they're drivers
called "Powerplay".
Powerplay can be used to tune the videocard up and down in performance and
therefore powerusage aswell... kind of like AMD Cool & Quit / Intel
Powerstep.
Powerplay can be controlled from the "AMDCCCLE" program but i have found
that it doesn't work properly with Ubuntu 9.10 as it always keeps the
videocard in the lowest setting possible.
Should we not add a catagorie for this in the tracker ? so we can make sure
it works in 10.04 ?
Only a small suggestion offcourse :-)
I also have one question.... the objective of these test is to confirm that
the "proprietary" drivers work... but are they the drivers we download from
www.ati.com/www.nvidia.com or do we need to test the ones that are suggested
by ubuntu in the hardware manager ?
Both fit the bill of being "proprietary" so i would like to be clear on that
matter.
Regards,
Dennis Beekman
