A small detail, but step 6 under installation on this page:
http://testcases.qa.ubuntu.com/Hardware/X/ProprietaryDrivers#Installation
does not work for me.

$ find  /lib/modules/ -type f -ls -iname '*.ko' | grep -E "/nvidia.ko|/fglrx.ko"
<no output>


$ sudo updatedb && locate nvidia.ko
/var/lib/dkms/nvidia-current/190.53/build/.nvidia.ko.cmd
/var/lib/dkms/nvidia-current/190.53/build/nvidia.ko

Graphics work fine.
