Hey Paolo,
I ran into what could have been a similar issue. I have two drives,
one I use as my main install with several partitions on it, and
another that I use for test installs and backups. My main drive has a
swap partition that the installer will typically auto setup during the
partitioning stage, but with this weeks iso, it was messed up. It was
listed as swusp and not swap. I configured it correctly to see if it
would take, and it did, but then I unconfigured it. Whatever.

My testing partition was setup as root and formatted, so I clicked
next. Because of your warning, I decided to carefully look over the
partitioning confirmation screen. It not only wanted to format my
testing partition, but "write the partition table" on my main drive.
My understanding is that means "delete everything". So, I hit back
and then forward again, and then it was ok, but I feel like I dodged
the bullet there.

Whew! Did you file a bug report? Please link. I filed for myself under 522432
Thanks,
Dan
