Re: Call for feedback (last week of testing posted)

Hello all,

I have posted Week 10 in the tracker [1], which is the last week of our
weekly testing. Next week we will be focusing in testing the final Lucid
release.

I want to thank everyone who participated during all these weeks. Your
participation in testing, in replying to the mailing list, etc. is very
important to Ubuntu's success.

I also want to gather some feedback around the project. We want to do
more testing projects like this, and we would like to improve them.

I would appreciate if you could answer some of these questions:

If you stayed around after the first week of testing, why did you stay?
I did stay around after the first week because I felt like I was really helping out and making a difference. I also felt like my reports were actually being read and taken seriously which feels good.
If you didn't stay around, why did you leave?

I didn't actually leave, but I regret that I was not as faithful as I would have like to have been for the past few weeks. I could have planned better from the beginning. You see my test box is my main production server at home and sometimes it is difficult to find a time where it is not providing internet, file, and print sharing to other boxes in the house so it could be rebooted to the lucid partition for testing. Sorry about that.

What did you like about the project?

I liked being able to make a contribution without having any coding or translating ability. It was also cool to rub elbows with real ubuntu developers (who actually appeared to be nice guys.)

What would you improve it?

Cannot think of any improvements at the moments. It was run very well. The developers were accessible and available for questions, input, and advice.

Would you like to organize yourself a project like this in the future?

Not at this time. Frankly I was not able to devote a sufficient amount of time to this. I am, however, helping to organize a release party.
Thanks a lot!
Ara (on behalf of the Ubuntu QA team)
