Hi,

I am not from the developer of xpad. But if you want to install v 4.3 then
simply do the following steps :

1. ./configure
2. sudo make && make install

it will install the latest xpad. in /usr/local/bin

if you want to install in /usr/bin where all default binary rest.

you can do this  ./configure --prefix=/usr/bin

and then sudo make && make install.

I think installing the latest version should solve your problem,
