In Virtualbox windowed view the mouse cursor IS visible.
Mouse-over events are visible

Running VirtualBox-4.2.18-88780-Win with Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.2.18-88780.
Used daily image of saucy-desktop-i386.iso dated 19 September 2013.
