Message #00528
release?
Hi everybody,
any objections against releasing the current trunk as 0.12? It seems
we're quite stable now, and there has been significant inprovements over
0.11.1 - Sega's facets and vertices with stl import, much improved
python interface, qt gui underwent significant changes, player is almost
completely remade, gl viewer has many enhancements, qglviewer is
integrated into our tree - that is only what I know of. Secondly, Ubuntu
8.04 was released and we should reflect that - see problem reports on
mailing lists. Thirdly, we would be able to update documentation on the
wiki by removing all the stuff that is not valid anymore.
Our notorious crashers are (as per scripts/default-test.py)
SDECLinkedSpheres and ThreePointBending, but I have no time (neither
intereset) to fix those.
For the release, I propose to _not_ build (by default) the fem,
realtime-rigidbody and mass-spring packages, since AFAIK no one uses
that and the code is effectively unmaintained.
Best regards, Václav
PS. Big topic -- at least for me and Bruno -- for post-0.12 would be
removing persistentInteractions and adapting constitutive laws for that.
Besides the regular work, of course.
