Message #00350
without contact interactions
Hi Janek, glad to be re-connected,
If you remember my "project", I would like to implement capillary
cohesion inside Yade. I have work on it this summer, and it seems to be
on a good way... eccept a little thing that I cannot understand...
From now home, capillary force is not even more fixed at an arbitrary
value, and is computed from the Laplace theory, depending on interaction
distance, capillary pressure and element sizes.
As I told you before, I created an example in wich the capillary
cohesion is activated even if the elements are not in contact (it is
called SphereCouple, I think that I have send it to you). This is
possible with little changes in the
"InteractingSphere2InteractingSphere4SpheresContactGeomery" file, as it
was indicated in a precedent mail ("off contact interaction 2" if I
remember), and increasing the size of the bounding boxes (1.5*radius).
To be sure, I display the forces and interaction distances in the terminal.
The fact is that it works well for this example.
But, I have try to insert it in the other existing examples, in
particular in the SDECSpheresPlane, and there is a strange problem: when
I play the example, all the spheres seems to disappear, as if the
timestep was to high (this is only an assumption). It seems to be like
that for the other examples when I add this condition of interaction.
Perhaps it is linked to the number of calculations?
Do you have an idea, and, above all, do you think there is a solution?
Thanks in advance,
So long.
Luc
