well, if you think it's crazy, go on and tell it :)

I just think that if TeX can have a spelling different than native
english, then why we can't too? And to make it even simpler - we can
make a one step further and pick anything than sounds good, instead of
using some explanation like "greek letter 'x' is spelt like 'h' in
word 'herb'"

PS: I think that all of those 'alphabet' propositions A..Z have
to be simply spelt using english spelling rules. That will make it
simpler to deal with phonetics.
