You can connect to running yade instance over telnet
http://yade.wikia.com/wiki/ScriptParametricStudy#Connecting_to_a_running_instance_over_network
(not directly related to yade-multi) 

but note you are still not running yade as "server" (in the basic sense,
that client asks the server to compute something etc), you just run it
in background.
