Hi,

you can find example script in the example folder, e.g. for the rockfall
mesh examples/WireMatPM/wirecontacttest.py. Bruno's spring is in
examples/chained-cylinder/chained-cylinder-spring.py.

The remote interaction model can indeed be used to model a membrane. You
have to calibrate it against your material. The remote interactions are
based on stress-strain curves. Not sure what you mean by self contact
problem. If you mean wire-wire contacts, such are only defined via
remote interactions at the moment.
