[Question #372306]: Stability of PFV
New question #372306 on Yade:
https://answers.launchpad.net/yade/+question/372306
Hi guys
I'm trying to use PFV but I get quite stuck with the stability of the PFV model.
When I introduce the flux I get an instability (varying in amplitude and frequency among others) and when it stabilizes and I try to update the boundary pressure, the average pressure does not follow what I ask.
I have played with the viscosity, time step and mass of the bodies which all seem to influence the outcome. I finally get something which seems to do what I ask. The initial problem might be because I have bodies of very small mass.
However I don't understand precisely what is driving the stability of pfv. Among others, what is the link between the mass of the bodies and the stability of pfv.
For example, for the standard yade calculation we have to be sure to be below the harmonic frequency. What about the pfv part?
thanks
Benoit
